The city offers quite many parks for relaxation, as well as modern, climatized shopping malls. It is not recommended to bathe in the river Sai Gon, but instead you can visit one of the many water lands in the area. There are many activities you can do with kids of all ages. Visit the Water Puppet theatre or the Artinus 3D Art Museum. Saigon's Botanical gardens and ZOO are listed as one of the oldest in the world, having been opened over 150 years ago to date housing about 550 animals. For water fun, spend a day at the Suoi Tien Cultural Amusement park or the Dam Sen Water park.

Unlike Hanoi, all crossings have traffic lights, however not everyone respects them. Barrier-free pavements can only be found in the modern part of the city.
