Nürnberg

The biggest Christmas market in Central Europe is at the Christkindlesmarkt. Sweet almonds and gingerbread aromas create an unforgettable atmosphere in the Old Town of Nuremberg. There are many decorative little stalls, which invite children to join in handicraft activities. The children can try Christmas baking, candle-pulling, glass workshop, wood burning, children’s post office and the playhouse. This Christmas market has over two million visitors a year, it is one of the largest Christmas markets in Germany.

Basel

Basel, the 3rd largest city in Switzerland, also called the cultural capital thereof, is located at the borders to Germany and France. The Christmas market is located on Barfüsserplatz and Münsterplatz right in the centre of the city. You can see over 160 traders and artisans offer the goods for sale in small, rustic wooden chalets. You have to visit Christmas fairy-tale forest, children can decorate candles, make torches, decorate gingerbread, drink hot chocolate, bake cookies, make Christmas floral decorations and other activities. In the inner courtyard of the Town Hall is Basel Wish Book, where you can write your Christmas wishes.

Vienna

New York - Bryant park
