Cape Town, one of South Africa’s three capital cities, is a wonderful holiday destination for young and old. You can start your day with a cable cart trip to the top of Table Mountain after which you and your little ones can relax on one of Cape Town’s many beaches. The city is perfect for families loving outdoor activities, such as hikes, bike rides, safaris and surfing. If you prefer history take a trip to Robben Island and visit the prison where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years or visit the District Six Museum, visit the Bo Kaap with its famous colourful houses or go on a guided Township tour.

Further sights in Cape Town include the Castle of Good Hope, the Lion’s Head mountain, Hout Bay with it’s food markets and most scenic views, the Chapman’s Peak Drive, the Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, the V & A Waterfront, the South African National Gallery, the Cape of Good Hope, the Cape Point National Park, and many more,..For some fun time with the kids visit the Two Ocean’s Aquarium, the Penguin Sanctuary at Boulder’s Beach, the Waterworld Strand aquapark or go one of the many safaris offered by several organizers.

The city is not ideal for a stroll around with your buggy – oftentimes walkways are narrow and the pavement not in the best condition, but you must also remember that Cape Town has very high crime rates. It is safe to roam around the city during day time, but ALWAYS order a taxi or Uber after dark. It is safe and convenient to use the MyCiti busses when exploring the city and you can use them when getting to and from the Cape Town airport.
