Dublin city has a history reaching back to the 10th century AD when the Vikings sailed their ships into the bay. The city centre stretches out along the Liffey river and is therefore quite flat, offering many parks for relaxation.

You can visit Dublinia, the Vikings and the medieval town or the Christ Church Cathedral, which is right next to it and has a side park with a small playground. St. Stephen's Green is a Victorian style park where you can easily spend half a day while picnicking. The Waterways visitors’ centre is composed of a vast canal system, built in 18th century and the Aquazone National Aquatic centre is a great indoor water park. Dublin is full of great parks for relaxing! The only place where a climb is required is the area of the Phoenix Park. You might also want visit the Trinity College,the National Wax Museum or the National Museum of Ireland, though we recommend these to be visited with older children. You can visit some of irish pubs with your toddlers, just check with the staff whether they accept babies and be prepared that children have to be out by 9pm.

The traffic in the streets is ok, but the main roads along the river can get very busy at times. The pavements are suitable for strollers, however some parts are very narrow, so a certain amount of carefulness is need.
