Kuala Lumpur, or more commonly referred to as KL, is the national capital of Malaysia and among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in South-East Asia. Malaysia, being a diverse country, which incorporates a mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian culture is a great destination for family holidays.
Strolling around KL is quite simple, and you will not have any issues visiting famous places with your buggy. Spend some time in the beautiful Lake Gardens including the Botanical gardens, the Orchid and Hibiscus gardens, the Butterfly park, the Bird Park or the Planetarium Negara. The China Town or the Little India are nice areas for a stroll, but quite busy if you have toddler with you. There are no green parks for relaxation, so be prepared to keep an eye on your running chipmunks, if you will let them out of the buggy.
The Petronas Towers, one of the tallest building in the world, is dominating the city. One of the two double decker lifts will take you to the Skybridge (170m). If you won't be able to visit the towers but still want to observe the city from a bird's perspective, visit KL Tower, surrounded by the KL Forest Eco Park (a baby changing room is only available at the upper ground floor). The KL Aquarium is a world class aquarium, housing over 5000 exhibits. The Zoo Negara, holds daily animal shows and is also a home to two giant pandas from the Sichuan.
Like in any other major South East Asian city, KL also offers quite a lot of water park fun for children of all ages, e.g. the Sunway Lagoon Theme Park. The KL City Centre Park, right at the base of Petronas Towers, is also one of the places to go for some water and playground fun.
For older children, visit the Petrosains Discovery Centre, a science museum based at the Petronas Towers, the Kidzania, same as in Jakarta or in Singapore, offers a variety of occupations that your children will pretend to be, or the Berjaya Times Square Theme Park, situated in a shopping mall.
