Paris, the capital of France, is one of the most visited cities in Europe and has much to offer even to those traveling with a buggy. Especially all the sights located near the river Seine can be easily accessed by walking thanks to flat pavements and platforms accompanying steps everywhere.

Paris, the capital of France, is one of the most visited cities in Europe and has much to offer even to those traveling with a buggy. Especially all the sights located near the river Seine can be easily accessed by walking thanks to flat pavements and platforms accompanying steps everywhere.

The only disadvantage of the city is the metro system. Unfortunately, most of the stations in the city centre are not barrier-free and stairs are quite frequent and steep. Oftentimes you need to carry the buggy from the street into the ticket validation area, after which there usually is another set of stairs between platforms. For example, Line 1 has only two barrier-free stations along the entire line, namely Esplanade de la Defense and La Defense. Buses are more convenient, but in the end, it is recommended to use a baby carrier when traveling alone.

With all the attractions we visited, we only had issues with Sacre Coeur, which turns out to be the least buggy friendly place in all of Paris.

Prior to arriving we obtained contact details for a baby seat taxi company, but in the end, we had to ask the taxi organizer at the airport to order us a cab (the waiting time being approx. 30 minutes). Both main airports in Paris, Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Orly, have baby changing rooms all around the airport located separately right next to the toilets.
