Since Salzburg is ranked one of the top cities in central Europe, it is usually full of tourists during the summer season.

When strolling through the central city area, most of the sights are accessible with a buggy. Mozart’s family house, the Mirabell chateaux, the Getreidegasse, museum of natural history, the city cathedral, and even the Hohensalzburg castle, towering above the city, can be reached on foot. The bus and trolleybus system serve as public transport in the city. If you want to experience the city with different eyes, you can rent a bike or use horse carriages.

Although Salzburg has its own international airport, is might be easier to fly to Munich (Germany) and then take a train or rent a car.
