If you expect London-like flat stroll around the city, you will be disappointed in San Francisco. As we known from different movies, there are few very steep blocks you don’t want to push a stroller in to. In general, San Francisco is kid friendly city in terms of the main sights being accessible for even the youngest members of your family.
Lombard street, Fisherman’s wharf, Golden Gate bridge (keep your toddler in a stroller) and Golden Gate park, top of the Coit Tower, Ferry Building Marketplace, China town or Union square are places you shouldn’t miss while spending few days in San Francisco.
It might help to travel light with small stroller just in case you’d like to enjoy a ride in the historic cable car as those are generally very crowded. We also suggest to enjoy half day in baby friendly Steinhart Aquarium at the California Academy of Science (located in Golden Gate park, usually every third Wednesday of the month entry for free). Bay Area Discovery Museum, Museum of Modern Art or the De Young Museum are attractions to see when you’re travelling with bit older kids.
Relax in Hellen Diller playground at Mission Dolores Park, in Yerba Buena Gardens with a carousel and a creativity museum or in Koret’s playground at Golden Gate park. Exploratorium, interactive museum for kids, San Francisco Zoo, located close to Golden Gate park or Conservatory of flowers. Take the ferry to Alcatraz, definitely an experience to do while visiting San Francisco, though not much baby friendly
