Bastakiya quarter, officially known as Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood, was built in late 19th century by Persian merchants. Since the area was demolished starting in the 80’s, there are only few renovated buildings that will allow you to breath in the original atmosphere. Some of the houses serve as private homes, the rest were rebuilt into museums and galleries or shops.
