The CKS Memorial was built to celebrate the former president of Republic of China, Chiang Kai-Shek and completed in 1980.
The blue octagonal roof sits on top of four sided hall, where CKS sits similarly to president Lincoln in Washington DC and the hall underneath will guide you through CKS’s life and through very important part of Taiwanese history. The park and square between the Concert hall and Theatre serves as a mass gathering point and was in 2007 rededicated as Liberty Square.
Accessible easily by public transport (Dongmen MRT station or CKS Memorial Hall bus stop), the Memorial Hall is free of charge and accessible with a stroller. A small café is located at the entrance, right next to the restrooms.
