Approximately 25km south from Odensee lies beautiful 16th century castle built in middle of a lake called Egeskov. In the last century, the castle was developed into an up-to-date model farm with its own dairy, power station and railway track to Kværndrup. Interesting not only for the castle, farm or veteran car museum, but also for different exhibitions being displayed throughout the year. Unfortunately there are no elevators or ramps, therefore it’s not possible to visit the first floor with buggy if you don’t want to carry it around a lot. Aligned park and it’s different gardens (Garden of Life or Egeskov Plant Shop) have been named by CNN as “Best European historic garden in 2012”, are opened to public for last 60 years.
The castle and park are opened end April to last week of October. Get there easily by car with free parking. Children under 4 years are for free. For more information, check here: https://www.egeskov.dk/en/opening-hours-prices
