The Hong Kong’s Ocean Park is rated as one of the best attraction and entertainment parks around the world. Located in the south of the Hong Kong island, the area is split into two parts, the Waterfront and the Summit, connected by the Ocean express rail and cable car. Ocean Park is highly visited not only for the attractions but for it’s animals programs too. Compared to Hong Kong’s Disneyland, it’s less hectic and less expensive too. The park itself is split into different sections, offering fun to everyone, regardless of their age.
Although seeing Pandas in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Sichuan Treasures or at the Giant Panda adventure hall might be the peak of your visit, your littlest ones will probably appreciate much more if you’ll take them to the Whiskers Harbour, that is dedicated especially for smaller kids. Taking the cable car to the Summit is an experience worth living, as you will admire the beautiful island’s landscape but the Summit doesn’t offer much (close to nothing) to small children, as the teens and parents are the ones enjoying attractions like Hair raiser or the Dragon. If you anyway decide to spend some time at the Summit, visit the Ocean theatre show with dolphins and seals.
Don’t worry that you won’t be able to find baby care rooms as they are located literally on every corner. Finding a quiet spot where to eat during lunch time is another story. The Summit has only few foot stands located close to the Ferris Wheel and the Waterfront food court is located at the Old Hong Kong. Easiest way to get to the main entrance of the park is to use the MRT South Island line and exit at the Ocean Park Station.
The public transport is barrier free and thus most convenient to get to the park. Parking is possible close to the main entrance (HK25/hr), though the online pre-booking is highly recommended. Ocean Park is opened daily from 10am – 7pm and we recommend to buy the Hong Kong pass, where the FasTrack tickets are included. Babies under 3 years are for free.
