The Palais Longchamp is an old monument in Marseille. It is divided into two parts, musée des beaux-arts and natural history museum. And also we can´t forget surrounding park (Park Longchamp) which belongs to one of the most beautiful garden in France. Opening of the Park Longchamp is dated to 1869. The most beautiful place of this garden is garden à la française, which is typical French garden and is also known as Jardin du plateau. This garden combines all typical elements of English gardens such as 150 years old plane tree, oak and a Siberian elm. This place offers also beautiful places for picnic and various play areas for kids. Behind the Palais is observatory and planetarium, great places for your kids if they like astronauts and space ships. This area has plenty of spaces for children to let off steam: apart from the large garden in front of the monument, there are three big, interconnected parks behind it, connected with several playgrounds.
