Battery park is not only Manhattan’s leaving point to Liberty and Ellis islands or place of various memorial but also a great entertainment area for little kids. Fountain, located 50 meters (150 feet) south from Castle Clinton is one of the top attractions for children during hot summer months. Just have spare set of clothes ready.

Visit the Castle Clinton National Monument, the Battery Urban Farm and the Labyrinth, WW2 memorial, Clipper City Tall Ship, American Merchant Mariners’ Memorial or Museum of Jewish Heritage.

Board a ferry to Liberty and Ellis islands and have a glimpse at US history. Tickets are available at the Castle, though we recommend to book them in advance. Wait the queue to the ferry starting right in front of the entrance to the Castle.
The SeaGlass Carousel, an aquarium-themed carousel, will show you how weightless it feels when you are under water. Sitting in one of 30 giant sea creatures, you’ll move up and down simulating a swim pattern. Children under 42in (106cm) have to be sitting on a lap of an adult.

Have a snack at Gigino at Wagner Park, Battery Gardens or in one of the kiosks. Entry to Battery Park is for free
Get there by subway (lines 4 and 5 – Bowling Green station or line M&R – Whitehall station).
