There are many famous sights and locations along the way to the Cape Point National Park, among others, Hout Bay with its marina and food markets, the epically beautiful Chapman’s Peak Drive with the famous view of Hout Bay and the Sentinel, Seal Island, Boulder’s Beach with its Penguin Sanctuary, the Clifton Beaches, and many more.
There is a small fee for entering the National Park, but if you enter as part of a tour the fee is usually included in the price of tours. The Cape Point National Park is one of the most beautiful places on earth and if you are lucky you will have the chance to spot some wild animals, e.g. baboons, zebras, ostriches, kudus, etc. You can drive through the park or you can ride parts of the way by bicycle. The road is in good condition, but there is no sidewalk and you should keep in mind that wild animals can roan around near the road.
If you get hungry you can have a bit at one of the few restaurants or you can have picnic at one of picnic locations.
The main sights in the Cape Point National Park are the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Point Light House. The Light House is on top of a hill and you can either hike up or take the cabin cart, however even if you take the cart you will still have to climb up some stairs. The view will make your efforts worthwhile though.
Beware that in the Cape Point National Park you will only find toilets and baby changing tables at the few restaurants in the area. Also, eventhough you might think the baboons are cute, never feed them nor carry any food on you anywhere near them, because they will smell it and they can be viscous.
