The biggest natural well-tided areal in Europe. Don’t think about concrete paths and benches every couple meters (though you may find few), you will be welcomed by long fields of green, Dublin Zoo, US embassy, doe preserve, field roads, quite few monuments and beautiful children’s playgrounds. This park offers one of the best opportunities in Dublin for long strolls.
Opened 24/7 and for free (the areal, you have to pay to visit the Zoo), some of the side entrances from Chapelizod Rd. require to climb long stairs, but the main entrance is barrier-free. The Visitor Centre offers designated car parking spaces, wheelchair accessibility, universal access toilets, a lift, and facilities at reception to store buggies or prams if needed. This place is perfect to spend a day in, have a picnic and just relax. More information on current events are to be found here: http://phoenixpark.ie/what-to-see/
