Much more convenient is to stroll from the city centre through Kastellet and its park. The promenade to Little Mermaid is well treated, just be aware that if you want to make a picture of yourself and the mermaid, you would have to jump over few rocks, which can be pretty difficult and dangerous (if you have your baby in your arms on top of that). There are no facilities nearby the statue. You’ll find closest public restrooms including baby changing room along the sea side after cca 600m.
