Tivoli Gardens, located between Copenhagen’s Townhall and the main train station is one of the “should see” when spending few days in the city. A fairy tale like atmosphere was created over 160 years ago and still nowadays the amusement park and gardens offer something for everyone age 0-100. Being said that, we still find the park more attractive for older children and their parents rather than for small babies or toddlers (luckily you can’t bring your littlest one on the Vertigo ride, that will turn you upside down at 100km/h speed). The park is also famous for its music programme, that is played every day (Monday’s Mundo world music, Thursday’s Danish artists, Friday’s Rock, Saturday’s Swing dancing class or Summer Classical symphony orchestra and many others).
Same as any other amusement parks, Tivoli Gardens offer different cuisine styles, starting from the refreshment stands, to traditional Danish cuisine to Michelin star chef restaurant opened recently in 2017. There are different types of tickets, annual tickets, seasonal (e.g. Christmas tickets) or unlimited rides tickets. Babies under 3 years are for free, children 3-7 years 50KR and adults either 110KR or 120KR. Baby changing room is called the Family Amenity Centre, includes changing tables, microwave, free nappies and comfortable breastfeeding chairs and is located next to the Petzi’s world.
Best to get to Tivoli Gardens is either by foot or by public transport, since the park is in heart of Copenhagen. If you will arrive by car, use the underground parking facility (175KR/1 day). Both main entrance and entrance from the main train station are barrier-free.
